Y’all, I am 100% thrifty at heart. Born and raised. My mom ingrained in me at an early age that finding a deal is equivalent to petting a unicorn – a feeling of thrill and exhilaration that surpasses all others. And that deal-finding spirit has never left me – just ask my closet. Only one issue… as I’ve gotten older my tastes have gotten slightly more expensive and my bank account tends to take the brunt of that… but don’t fear, I’ve worked out a great compromise – consignment shopping!
Now Cathy Brooks, the owner of Nora & Nicky’s, would prefer you call it “pre-loved shopping” and I’m totally on board. Her cute little shop of pre-lovin’ is located downtown Raleigh in the heart of all the happenings. What’s even cooler (if that’s even possible?) is that she is also 100% local when it comes to all her “yet-to-be-loved” items including jewelry from Zass Design, Greenpaynt studios, and Good Girls Studio. She also sells soaps, local art, and even her husband’s most delicious-smelling homemade candles! How cool?!
So the thing that I love most about consignment stores (besides the great prices!) is the infinite amount of unique pieces you can find, and Nora & Nicky’s did not let me down! Check it out…

A couple of takeaways for you, my lovely reader…
1. If you live in Raleigh or anywhere close, go visit Cathy at Nora & Nicky’s located on W. Hargett St.
2. If you don’t live near this wonderful little shop (and city – sorry not sorry), get on Google and search for “designer resale or consignment” in your area and go check it out!
3. Take a chance and add a little pre-loved, dealtastic clothes/jewelry/shoes to your wardrobe. You won’t regret it!!
4. Last but not least, a HUGE THANK YOU to Cathy and Ari (N & N’s own fantastic personal stylist), my mother-in-law and her amazing camera, Joanna & Michelle and their incredibly photogenic selves, and my dear mom for her behind-the-camera support! I couldn’t have done it without all these beautiful ladies!! MUCHO AMOR!!
